Wimslow Half Marathon 2004: 13 mile run
400m swim, 21km bike, 5km run Not sure why but got really bad cramp on the run, sugar levels high at finish

Weardale Triathlon 2004: 750m swim, 13 mile bike, 3 mile run Tried different insulin and sports drink regime to prevent high blood sugar and dying half way through the bike section, not much success but still a good race, try something else next time.
Prince Bishops Triathlon 2004: 1.5km swim, 25 mile bike, 6 mile run The first time I used extra Lantus on top of the night-time dose of 12 units taken the night before, 10 units 1.30hr before the start, so will begin working 30mins into race, worked perfectly, sugar level 6.5 mmol/l at finish compared to 18 mmol/l the year previous, time improved by 15 minutes!
Helvellyn Triathlon 2004, 20th Birthday: 1.9km swim (Ullswater), 38 mile bike (including Kirkstone Pass), 8 mile run (up and down Helvellyn)
Tyne & Wear Fire Brigade Triathlon 2004: 400m swim, 13mile bike, 3mile run Used a really strong sports drink on the bike section, problem being it was red hot and I drank it too fast, the resulting high blood sugar knackered up the performance, I've decided from now on I'll steer clear of sport drinks and go for an electrolyte replacement drink containing complex carbohydrates with a low sugar content
Teesdale Triathlon 2004: 500m swim, 17 mile bike, 4.5 mile run
600m swim, 23km bike, 5km run The second time I wrecked my bike, this time I was hit by a car
Langdale HorseShoe Fell Race 2004: 14 mile fell race in the Lake District, felt really good, initially planned to run with my dad, but after 400m my legs took control and once they get going its hard to stop, finished in 2hrs 57mins, taking 21 minutes of my dads record:-)
Great North Run 2004: 13 mile run Position: 584, Time: 01:30:49,
